Turkey Cranberry Sliders Recipe

  • Author: Elara
  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 12 sliders 1x

Description

These Turkey Cranberry Sliders are a delightful and easy-to-make sandwich perfect for holiday gatherings or any casual meal. Featuring tender leftover turkey, creamy Havarti cheese, tangy cranberry sauce, and a flavorful buttery topping on soft King’s Hawaiian rolls, these sliders are baked to golden perfection for a warm and satisfying bite.

Ingredients

Scale

Slider Ingredients

  • 1 12-count package King’s Hawaiian Rolls (or homemade dinner rolls)
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 8 ounces sliced leftover turkey
  • 6 slices Havarti cheese
  • ½ cup cranberry sauce

Topping Ingredients

  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • Sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure it’s ready for baking the sliders evenly.
  2. Prepare the Rolls: Open the package of slider rolls and slice them horizontally in half. Arrange the bottom halves evenly in a 9×13-inch baking dish to form the base for the sandwiches.
  3. Assemble the Sliders: Evenly spread the mayonnaise over the bottom halves of the rolls. Layer the sliced turkey on top, followed by pieces of Havarti cheese—slice each cheese slice into four squares and place two squares on each sandwich. Spread the cranberry sauce over the cheese, then cover with the top halves of the rolls.
  4. Make the Topping: In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, and kosher salt until fully combined.
  5. Add the Topping: Spoon the butter mixture generously over the tops of each roll. If desired, sprinkle sesame or poppy seeds on top to add a decorative and flavorful finish.
  6. Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish with foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the ingredients to warm through.
  7. Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese melts and the tops of the rolls become golden brown and slightly crispy.
  8. Serve Hot: Remove from the oven and serve the sliders warm for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Leftover turkey can be substituted with freshly cooked turkey breast sliced thinly.
  • Use your favorite cranberry sauce, homemade or canned, depending on preference.
  • Havarti cheese can be replaced with Swiss or Monterey Jack if desired.
  • Slider rolls like King’s Hawaiian are preferred for their sweetness and texture, but any soft dinner roll can be used.
  • For a spicier kick, add a dash of cayenne pepper to the butter topping mixture.
  • Can be prepared a few hours ahead and baked just before serving to save time.
