Ingredients
Scale
Sandwiches
- 96 RITZ® Crackers (about 3 sleeves)
- ½ lb thinly sliced deli ham
- ⅓ lb thinly sliced Swiss cheese
Butter Mixture
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Toppings
- 2 teaspoons poppy seeds
- 1 teaspoon dried onion flakes
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F to prepare for baking the sandwiches.
- Assemble base cracker and ham: Place 24 RITZ crackers flat side down in the bottom of a 13×9 inch baking dish. Repeat this step with another 24 crackers in a second baking dish. Tear the deli ham into small strips with your hands and gently place one lightly folded slice of ham on each cracker to form the sandwich base.
- Add cheese and top cracker: Cut the Swiss cheese into roughly 1-inch pieces. Place one piece of cheese on top of the ham on each cracker, then place another RITZ cracker on top, rounded side facing up, to complete each mini sandwich.
- Prepare butter mixture: Melt the unsalted butter in a microwave-safe bowl (about 45 seconds). Whisk in the Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and salt until well combined.
- Brush sandwiches: Evenly pour and gently brush the butter mixture over the assembled mini sandwiches in both baking dishes.
- Add toppings: Sprinkle poppy seeds and dried onion flakes evenly over the top of all the sandwiches for added texture and flavor.
- Bake: Bake the assembled sandwiches in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the cracker tops are a light golden brown.
- Serve: Transfer the warm sandwiches to a serving platter and enjoy immediately for best taste.
Notes
- You can prepare these sandwiches ahead of time and refrigerate before baking, then bake when ready to serve.
- Try different cheeses like cheddar or provolone to customize flavors.
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the butter mixture.
- These sandwiches are best enjoyed warm to keep the cheese melted and crackers crisp.
