  • Yield: About 6 servings 1x

Description

Ritz Bits Puppy Chow is a deliciously addictive snack featuring peanut butter-flavored Ritz Bitz crackers coated in a smooth chocolate, peanut butter, and butter mixture, then dusted with powdered sugar for a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors. This no-bake treat is quick and easy to prepare, ideal for parties, gatherings, or simply satisfying your snack cravings.

Ingredients

Scale

Snack Mix

  • 8.8 ounce box Peanut Butter Ritz Bitz

Chocolate Coating

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (can use salted)

Coating

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (more if needed)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crackers: Open the 8.8 ounce box of Peanut Butter Ritz Bitz and pour them into a large mixing bowl to create the base for your puppy chow.
  2. Melt the Chocolate Mixture: In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips, 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter, and 1/4 cup unsalted butter. Stir constantly until the mixture is smooth and fully melted, taking care to avoid scorching or cooking too long to prevent seizing.
  3. Combine with Crackers: Remove the melted chocolate mixture from heat and immediately pour it over the bowl of Ritz Bitz. Use a spatula to gently but quickly toss and coat the crackers evenly with the chocolate mixture.
  4. Add Powdered Sugar: Sprinkle 1/2 cup of powdered sugar over the coated crackers. Stir well until every cracker is fully covered with powdered sugar. Add extra powdered sugar if needed to ensure complete coating.
  5. Cool and Set: Spread the coated Ritz Bitz evenly onto a baking sheet lined with parchment or wax paper. Allow the mixture to cool completely at room temperature for about 10 minutes, letting the coating set.
  6. Serve or Store: Once cooled, transfer the Puppy Chow to an airtight container for storage or serve immediately and enjoy this sweet, crunchy snack.

Notes

  • Be careful not to overheat the chocolate mixture to avoid seizing and clumping.
  • Use parchment or wax paper for easy cleanup and to prevent sticking.
  • You can adjust the amount of powdered sugar for your preferred level of sweetness and coating thickness.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days for best freshness.
