Scale
Base Mixture
- 16 ounce cream cheese, softened (two 8-ounce packages)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 4 to 5 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 4 ounces jarred jalapeños, chopped
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded parmesan cheese
- ¼ cup green onion, chopped
Topping
- ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C) to prepare for baking the dip.
- Prepare Baking Dish: Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish or a 2½-quart casserole dish with nonstick spray to prevent sticking.
- Mix Base Ingredients: In a medium bowl, use a mixer on medium speed to blend the softened cream cheese and sour cream until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Combine Add-ins: Stir in the cooked and crumbled bacon, chopped jalapeños, shredded cheddar cheese, shredded parmesan cheese, and chopped green onions until evenly incorporated.
- Spread Mixture: Transfer and spread the cheese and jalapeño mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- Prepare Topping: In a small bowl, mix the panko breadcrumbs with the melted butter and chopped fresh parsley until the crumbs are fully coated.
- Top and Bake: Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the cream cheese dip. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the dip is hot throughout and the breadcrumb topping is golden brown and crispy.
Notes
- For milder heat, reduce the amount of jalapeños or use mild jarred peppers.
- Bacon can be substituted with turkey bacon or omitted for a vegetarian variation.
- This dip is best served warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or sliced vegetables.
- Leftovers can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated before serving.
- You can prepare the dip a day ahead and add the breadcrumb topping just before baking to maintain crispiness.
