Description

Dream cookies, or Drömmar, are delicate Swedish butter cookies characterized by their light, airy texture and fragrant vanilla aroma.   • 1/2 tsp Baker’s Ammonia
  • 2 tsp Vanilla sugar (or substitute with vanilla extract)

Wet Ingredients

  • 50 g Butter (1.75 oz), room temperature
  • 90 g Sugar (2/3 cup) (1½ dl)
  • 3 tbsp Vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat: Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F) to prepare for baking the cookies evenly.
  2. Mix Butter and Sugars: In a mixing bowl, beat the room temperature butter together with sugar and vanilla sugar (or vanilla extract) until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.
  3. Add Oil: Gradually incorporate the vegetable oil into the creamed mixture while continuously mixing to keep the dough smooth.
  4. Combine Baker’s Ammonia and Flour: Mix the Baker’s Ammonia with a small portion of the flour to ensure it incorporates evenly without clumping, then add it to the dough mixture.
  5. Add Remaining Flour: Work in the rest of the flour thoroughly until the dough comes together and is no longer sticky.
  6. Roll Dough Balls: Take small portions of dough and roll them into balls, placing each onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, ensuring they have enough space to expand slightly.
  7. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the middle of the preheated oven and bake the cookies for 15 to 17 minutes, until they are lightly golden and crisp.
  8. Cool: Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool completely on the baking sheet to firm up and maintain their delicate texture.
