Ingredients
Scale
For the Donuts
- 2 cups Betty Crocker Cotton Candy Sugar Cookie Mix (dry)
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 3 Tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/3 cup Danimals Cotton Candy Greek Yogurt
- 5 Tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon Duncan Hines Cotton Candy Flavor Mix (about 1/4 of the packet)
For the Glaze
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- Sprinkles (quantity as desired for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 375ºF. Generously grease a mini donut pan using nonstick cooking spray to ensure the donuts don’t stick after baking.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the cotton candy sugar cookie mix, baking soda, and salt until well combined for an even texture.
- Add Wet Ingredients: To the dry mixture, add the eggs, vegetable oil, and cotton candy Greek yogurt. Stir thoroughly until the batter is smooth and fully combined.
- Fill Donut Pan: Transfer the batter into a large plastic zip-top bag and cut a small hole at one bottom corner. Pipe the batter into each donut mold, filling them about halfway to allow room for rising.
- Bake Donuts: Place the pan in the oven and bake for 7-8 minutes. The donuts are ready when they spring back lightly to the touch. Let them cool in the pan for 3 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Prepare the Glaze: In a small saucepan, combine the milk, vanilla, and cotton candy flavor mix. Warm over low heat until just heated. Gradually sift in the powdered sugar, whisking slowly to form a smooth glaze without lumps.
- Dip and Decorate: Remove glaze from heat and keep it warm by setting the saucepan over a bowl of hot water. Dip the top of each cooled donut into the glaze individually, then immediately sprinkle with colorful sprinkles. The glaze will set very quickly, so add sprinkles right away before moving to the next donut.
- Let Set: Allow the glazed donuts to set for about 5 minutes so the coating can harden slightly before serving.
- Storage: Store any leftover donuts in an airtight container at room temperature. They will stay fresh and soft for up to 4 days.
Notes
- Be careful not to overfill donut molds to prevent batter overflow during baking.
- Use fresh cotton candy flavor mix for the best taste and aroma.
- Greasing the pan well is essential to easy donut removal.
- The glaze sets quickly; have sprinkles ready to decorate immediately after dipping.
- Donuts are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored up to 4 days in an airtight container.
