Description

This Cheesy Artichoke Dip is a creamy, savory appetizer blending caramelized onions, marinated artichoke hearts, and a trio of cheeses for a luscious, gooey dip perfect for parties or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Dip

  • 1 large onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 (14 oz) jar marinated artichoke hearts (roughly chopped)
  • 3/4 cup Mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Caramelize the Onions: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the thinly sliced onions, cooking and stirring occasionally for 30-40 minutes until the onions become caramelized and lightly golden brown. Be careful to not let the onions brown too much; reduce heat to low if necessary. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Preheat the Oven: While the onions are caramelizing or once done, preheat your oven to 350º F (175º C) to prepare for baking the dip.
  3. Combine the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, blend the softened cream cheese and sour cream together until smooth and well combined. Stir in the caramelized onions, chopped artichoke hearts, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce until evenly incorporated.
  4. Bake the Dip: Transfer the mixture into a small baking dish, spreading it evenly. Place it in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dip is bubbling and heated through.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Serve warm with pita chips, crackers, or your favorite dippers for a delicious appetizer.

Notes

  • For extra cheesiness, sprinkle additional mozzarella or Parmesan on top before baking.
  • You can substitute sour cream with Greek yogurt for a tangier flavor and slightly healthier option.
  • If you prefer a milder dip, reduce or omit the hot sauce.
  • Use fresh artichoke hearts if available, but marinated jarred artichokes add depth of flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat gently in the oven or microwave.
