Ingredients
Scale
Apples
- 2–3 Granny Smith apples, cored and sliced
- 2–3 Gala apples, cored and sliced
Caramel Sauce
- 4 Tbsp. salted butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 6 Tbsp. corn syrup
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Toppings
- 4 oz. white chocolate
- 1 Heath bar, broken into pieces
- 1/2 cup crushed pretzels
Instructions
- Prepare Toppings: Crush the pretzels into small pieces and chop the Heath bar into small bits. Place them in separate small bowls for easy sprinkling later.
- Wash and Slice Apples: Wash, core, and slice the apples thinly. Place the slices in a large bowl filled with lemon juice and water or Sprite to prevent browning and keep them fresh.
- Make Caramel Sauce: In a medium saucepan, melt the salted butter over medium heat. Add the brown sugar, corn syrup, and sweetened condensed milk. Whisk the ingredients continuously and bring to a light bubbly boil. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Allow the caramel sauce to cool slightly before using.
- Melt White Chocolate: Place white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth.
- Drain Apples: Drain the liquid from the apple slices and pat them dry gently. Arrange the slices evenly on a large serving plate.
- Drizzle Sauces: Drizzle the homemade caramel sauce and melted white chocolate evenly over the arranged apple slices.
- Add Toppings: Sprinkle the crushed pretzels and chopped Heath bar pieces generously over the drizzled apples for added crunch and sweetness.
- Optional Serving: Place any extra toppings next to the dish so guests can add more if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy the delicious combination of tart apples and rich toppings.
Notes
- To prevent apple slices from browning before serving, soak them in lemon juice and water or Sprite.
- Adjust the amount of caramel and white chocolate drizzles according to taste preference.
- For a nutty twist, you can add chopped walnuts or pecans as additional toppings.
- This dessert is best served immediately for optimal freshness and texture.
- Store any leftovers separately to prevent sogginess of the apples.
