- Flaky sea salt, for finishing
- Fresh cracked black pepper, optional
Instructions
- Slice the Ingredients: Use a sharp serrated knife to cut the mozzarella and tomatoes into approximately 1/4 inch thick slices, or thicker if preferred, ensuring even slices for layering.
- Arrange on Plate: Place a large plate on your workspace and alternatively arrange the tomato and mozzarella slices, slightly overlapping each other in an attractive pattern.
- Add Basil and Seasoning: Drizzle the arranged slices with good-quality extra virgin olive oil. Scatter fresh basil leaves over the top or tuck smaller leaves between the slices. Finish by sprinkling flaky sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste.
